Glen is out of surgery now and in the Recovery room. He is awake, but they are working on getting his pain under control. We have not spoken with a doctor yet. I will update again once we have spoken with the doctor or find out anything further.
Thank you for your continued prayers that they can control his pain and for God's continued peace and comfort for Glen and the family during the recovery process.

Surgery Update - 11:30
We got an update from the surgeon at 11:30 and he told us that Glen is doing fine. We knew that the surgeon would have to wait until the surgery started to determine which procedure he would do. We were hoping for Option 1, but they will have to do the more completed procedure. The surgery will last another hour or two because they will have to re-position him to go in from the chest rather than from the side.
While they were deciding which procedure to do, they removed a lymph node to be biopsied again to determine exactly what type of lymphoma he has. That will be treated in about 8 weeks.

Glen has been taken back for surgery
We just left seeing Glen before they took him back for surgery at 9:10 AM. It should be at least 2 hours and I will update as we get more information.
Morning Surgery Update
Jennifer and I picked up Glen, Peggy, & Christy this morning at 5:40 and dropped them off at the door and parked. By the time we came in from the parking lot, they had already taken Glen back to start the preparations. It is almost 9:00 now and we have gotten to see him several times, but they have not taken him to the operating room yet.
We had to leave the room while they put in an arterial line and again when they put in an epidural. They should be taking him about within the next 30 minutes or so. They expect the surgery to last at least 2 hours, so I will update as we find out more information.

Preparing for Surgery
Jennifer, Courtney, & I spent Friday night and all day Saturday with Glen & Peggy doing some yardwork, garage cleaning, and errand running before Glen's surgery and recovery.
Kelsey came home Saturday night and we had a good time with her yesterday. Courtney loved having her home and being able to play outside. She went back to WKU last night, but will be coming back tonight so that she can take Courtney to school tomorrow and spend some time with us at the hospital before she heads back to WKU for her piano recital for her piano class. Praying for travel mercies while she is on the road. :-)
Glen & Peggy will be coming to Nashville this afternoon to check into a hotel, so that Glen will be close by and not have to travel in the wee hours of the morning. Jennifer and I are going to pick them up and take them to the hospital around 5:45 tomorrow and the surgery should start somewhere around 8 AM. He is first on the list, so that is about as close to a sure starting time as any.
I will update this site throughout the day tomorrow as we get more information during the surgery. I hope that this will be a good way to inform everyone with the same information and not have to worry about missing someone or forgetting some information.
Please keep all of us in your prayers tonight. tomorrow, and for the next several days or weeks during recovery. I pray that God will guide the surgeons during the surgery, will wrap His arms around us and give us comfort and peace while we await updates, will give Glen the strength and resolve to fight this cancer and make a quick and successful recovery, and help Glen to know how much he is loved and respected by his family and the many people he has touched and helped throughout his life.
You are an amazing man Glen Moore. We love you very much and I am so proud to be your son-in-law. God bless you immensely.

What's going on with the Queen Family?
Well it has been forever since I last updated this site, so I figure I will just let everyone know what is currently going on and can fill in details about the last year in later posts. I have also been asked to use this site to update our family and friends on Glen's progress during his surgery and recovery, so I will start posting updates for that later as well.
Kelsey is finishing up her freshman year at Western Kentucky University. She is currently majoring in Musical Theatre, but is considering options for possibly transferring to Tennessee Tech next year to pursue a degree in Nursing. She has always had an interest in both, but wanted to pursue the Musical Theatre degree first to see if she really wanted to pursue that as a career or as a passion she can do for fun. She visited TTU last week with Jennifer and met the Nursing Director and got some good feedback about the possibilities of getting into the program. This is one time that Courtney's condition and medical history that Kelsey has been exposed to actually work in her favor, since she has already been around the hospital and nursing so much already and actually changed a trach and Mic-key button over the years.
Courtney is doing well healthwise, but we are now having to add a thickener to any liquids that she drinks. The doctors discovered that after her velopharangeal flap surgery and her back surgery, she is now aspirating again with any thin liquids. She also eats a basically soft food diet, where we either puree foods or it is something soft. She is back to bowling in leagues again and we actually bowled together in a league this past year. She is finishing up her 8th grade year and will be going to McGavock High School next year (I know I can't believe it either). She misses Kelsey while she is away at college and really loves it when she comes home.
Jennifer is playing in 2 tennis leagues and is working a little more these days at JK. She still takes Courtney back and forth to school, her doctor appointments, and to work with her when she is out of school.
I have been doing well for the most part, but have added stress in my life right now as I am now looking for a new job. After 21 years at the same place, my job is being moved to India and my last day is Friday, May 4th. Although this is a big change in my life and I had gotten very comfortable there, I think this is God's plan and I am looking forward to what he has in store for me. I have many contacts that I am reaching out to for assistance in finding another job and have a few leads already.
As I said earlier, I may fill in some details that have happened over the past year in other posts, but that is where we are right now.
Of course the biggest thing that is going on in our life right now is helping Peggy and Glen prepare for Glen's surgery on May 1st. He will be having surgery to remove cancer in his esophagus at Centennial and will be in the hospital at least 8 days up to possibly 4 weeks. I will give more details and updates in posts specifically for him beginning on Tuesday, May 1st.

DCA Banquet 2011
Jennifer asked me to put some photos on this site for people who don't have Facebook access. These are from DCA's Jr./Sr. Banquet (their version of a prom). Kelsey's date was one of her best friends at DCA. They have been at DCA together for all 14 years and along with another friend at DCA have been called "The Three Musketeers" for years. Jacob's mom has done Kelsey's makeup and hair for several important events and plays over the years. We went to their house to meet since she was getting her hair and makeup done. We took lots of pictures at their house before leaving for the Springhouse Golf Club for the Banquet. 
Jacob's Mom also made Kelsey and Jacob's corsages. As you can tell, they both love the camera and their dramatic sides can come out at the drop of a hat. :-) For Senior Superlatives, Kelsey won Most Dramatic girl and Jacob won Best Hair (his Mom was thrilled) :-) The pictures below were taken at the Springhouse Golf Club. The picture on the staircase is the Senior Walk, where all Seniors are announced. It is quite an achievement just to make it down the stairs in those dresses and heels. 
They had a great time. Kelsey said they danced the entire time. They finish up the dance about midnight and then they rent out the bowling alley and have an "after party" till about 3 AM.
